Appropriate nutritional balance and diet can play a positive role in MS.
The diet recommended by the MSTCs encourages increased consumption of unsaturated fatty acids while decreasing the intake of saturated fats. The nutritional programme also recommends increased intakes of vitamins, minerals, trace elements and fibre, which are all important for general health.
The MS Trust gives some general information on diet here and provides comments on the best-known diets for MS including the Swank Diet and the Best Bet diet.
